Patchouli

This soap has patchouli essential oil and ground herbs. Patchouli is a member of the mint family native to Malaysia. Its scent develops with oxidation and it improves with age. Kashmiri shawls are associated with the scent of patchouli, the leaves of which were used to repel insects. Many of us associate it with the "hippie days". The scent is described as earthy, herbaceous, sweet-balsamic, and rich, with woody undertones. It is in the perfume Tabu in very small quantity. Aromatherapists say patchouli reduces appetite and inflammation, is a cell rejuvenator, antiseptic, and counters nervousness and depression (unless of course you don't like the scent, and people do seem to either love it or hate it).
